{"id":7246,"date":"2025-02-06T15:30:17","date_gmt":"2025-02-06T14:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rihs.law\/?p=7246"},"modified":"2025-04-01T17:02:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T15:02:09","slug":"behind-the-scenes-our-visit-to-the-austrian-parliament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rihs-old.mycodingbase.at\/en\/news\/behind-the-scenes-our-visit-to-the-austrian-parliament\/","title":{"rendered":"Politics Up Close: Our Visit to Parliament"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 data-start=\"48\" data-end=\"85\"><strong data-start=\"48\" data-end=\"85\">Joint Parliamentary Tour and More<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"87\" data-end=\"244\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">Our company outing on January 30th led us to the heart of Austria&#8217;s legislative process: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parlament.gv.at\/en\">Parliament<\/a>.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">Thanks to the invitation from National Council Member <a href=\"https:\/\/wolfgang-gerstl.at\/\">Mag. Wolfgang Gerstl<\/a> (hereinafter: MP), we were able to participate in a tour despite an ongoing Federal Council session.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">The subsequent conversation with MP Mag. Gerstl provided us with valuable insights into the daily life of a politician and the significance of political engagement.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n<h1 data-start=\"246\" data-end=\"316\"><strong data-start=\"246\" data-end=\"316\">The Parliament: Architectural Gem and Center of Political Practice<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"475\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">During our visit, we had the opportunity to tour the recently renovated and modernized Parliament building.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">As we walked through the assembly hall, the Federal Council chamber, and the newly designed National Council chamber, we absorbed the impressive architecture and learned fascinating facts about the history and importance of this esteemed institution.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">This experience has enhanced our understanding of its role.<\/span>\u200b<br \/>\n<span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">As a law firm specializing in public law, we deal daily with constitutional and administrative law issues.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">Therefore, we greatly appreciated the tour of the building, but found the subsequent discussion with MP Mag. Wolfgang Gerstl, where political and legal questions were addressed, particularly enriching.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n<h1 data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"634\"><strong data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"634\">A Call for Better Togetherness<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"761\"><span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">Following the tour, we enjoyed a communal dinner at the Palmenhaus, seizing the opportunity to exchange ideas and engage in conversation.<\/span> <span class=\"relative -mx-px my-[-0.2rem] rounded px-px py-[0.2rem]\">This not only concluded an inspiring and informative day but also highlighted what we wish to take away from our parliamentary visit: listening and understanding (or at least the attempt to understand) are essential to strengthen values like cohesion and compassion in our society.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our company outing took us to the heart of legislation: the Austrian Parliament.
